CALCUTTA — The Friends of Beaver Creek State Park present “Pioneer Village Alive” noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at Beaver Creek State Park.
Activities include games for children, apple butter making for adults, the historic Gaston’s Mill operating and grinding grain, and blacksmith demonstrations in the blacksmith’s shop.
Lessons in the one-room schoolhouse will take place, and the 60-minute monthly history program — “The Day the Civil War Came to our Backyard,” the surrender of Confederate General John Hunt Morgan — is 1 p.m. in the museum in the upper level of Gaston’s Mill.
The trading Post is open noon to 4 p.m. with snacks and gifts available.
